Polar Bear Cubs Playtime
A mother polar bear and her two cubs spent two hours playing in Arctic waters. This footage was shot while I was leading our Natural Exposures Invitational Photo Tours to the archipelago of Svalbard, Norway. Using a high-powered telephoto lens our group was able to stay over 300 yards away, giving the bears ample space to be themselves.

    I'm having this issue with a 633x Lexar SDXC card, the one blue and black. Bought it at Lexar original store in AliExpress around two years ago and it was working just fine on my phone, out of a sudden everything vanished as if the SD wasn't even inserted on my mobile. It is not recognized anymore on my phone, same on other three phones and three laptops I have tested it ever since to retrieve my precious lost data. Around 100GB that's now gone out of a sudden. I don't recommend this brand, I thought it would last more given that it is an original product...

    Nice! I have a Sony a9 & 200-600 and just picked up a Oly M-1 mkII and have wondered much of what you've answered here. I love my Sony results, but it can be such a beast to lug around handheld. I'll have to see what you think about the 100-400, as I've considered the 70-300. One thing about the a9 AF, it rarely misses and the tracking is fantastic for sports such as soccer.

    Thx for showing us the roundtrip. However, I’d be scared to fill up my harddrive because every photo I sent to DXO/C1 will be duplicated. I really want to go away from LR but all alternatives seem to be strong in either DAM or Raw conversion. Only ACDSee seems to be good at both but only on window because their mac version ist very limited. The speed of searching > 1 million pix is impressive

      Mitch, that's quite a statement you make about Mylio. I've been working with the folks at #MylioPhotos for almost 15 years and I've never once felt like they were scamming anything or anybody. You must have examples of your Scam claim or are you just imagining your betrayal like so many other conspiracy dogs do today? Please share so I can see if you know what you're talking about. I will agree that DXO is a superior RAW conversion software but it doesn't even come close to MylioPhotos for keeping tack of your pictures not to mention it has no ability to sync your photos across the unlimited number of devices like Mylio does with ease. Apple to oranges here buddy. Finally, I would be curious how long you've worked with Mylio to come to your conclusion. I would guess not long.

      @@danieljcox tell you what ? Send me a place where I can send screenshots and I will prove you wrong you what I’m saying is absolutely true. As for how long I “tried” to use them it was one full year and quite frankly I would say I was only able to use them for about one third of that period as the rest of the time they had problems with their software. I have an M1 Mac with the latest OS. As for why I call them ‘scammers’ it’s because I cancelled early and even went so far as to login and change the recurring billing and after all this they ARE STILL TRYING TO BILL ME. I changed my cc I do as knew they were scammers pretty early on. Why do t you try to cancel and do what I did and see for yourself as my guess is they know you’re an influencer and give you much better treatment than us ‘common folk’ Not putting you down here so don’t take it personally but I’m not the only one who thinks this as seen in any google search

    Hi Daniel, how is the G9ii's autofocus for wildlife photography? Currently own a G9 and am definitely going to replace it due to the poor AF performance particularly for birds in flight. Is the G9ii good enough or is it OM1 or Canon move?

    • @danieljcox
      @danieljcox 4 місяці тому

      Hello Joe, Unfortunately, I've not had a chance to test the G9 Mark ll. I tried contacting Lumix several times to see if I could get one to try but would never receive any response. I emailed them five different times and still nothing. I can only guess they didn't like the last review I did on the Lumix GH6, which I thought was pretty positive. But my review for the original G9, where I didn't hold back with my disappointment in that camera for birds in flight, may still be a burr in their saddle with me. Oh well. Such is life. Panasonic makes some lovely cameras, but their autofocus has never been up to the standards for fast-moving subjects. Maybe that's changed. I'll never know. But for now, I'm getting exceptional results with the original OM-1 and even better results with the new OM-1 Mark ll. The new OM-1 Mark ll isn't quite in the realm of the Sony A9 I sometimes shoot. But there is nothing like the OM-1 when paired with the 150-400mm lens. I've not touched my Sony gear since I got OM System lens. OM System seems to be making massive progress for those who love action. I just can't imagine going back to the full frame gear due the substantial differences in size and weight of lenses and cost of the full frame cameras.

    • @JoeMaranophotography
      @JoeMaranophotography 4 місяці тому

      @danieljcox I have the 12-60 and 100-400 Lumix lenses at the moment and have seen that the G9ii seems better at video autofocus than the OM1 so it's quite tempting. I haven't seen any trustworthy reviews for its photo autofocus hence why I tracked you down and wanted your opinion but a shame that Lumix are still adverse to promotion and actually making money as ever!! I have been tempted by the original OM1 but like I say I'm using Lumix lenses so will lose the features and also I hear OM menu's can be a nightmare to a newcomer.

    • @danieljcox
      @danieljcox 4 місяці тому

      @@JoeMaranophotography I strongly disagree on the Menu issue you mention for the OM-1. The original OM cameras had a daunting menu system. But the new OM-1 solved that. It's quite good now. Yes, there would be a loss of the Dual IS or what the OM System calls Sync IS if you put Lumix lenses on OM cameras. But I can tell you that the original Lumix 100-400mm is like getting a completely new lens when used with the OM-1. I was astonished at how much better the Lumix lens is when paired with the OM-1 camera body. I wrote a blog post on the phenomenon a while back, which you can read here. naturalexposures.com/new-leica-100-400mm-mark-ll-is-finally-here/

      @danieljcox Thanks Daniel! See I would prefer to stick to Lumix as its what I know (G7, GX80, G80, G9) but if the OM1 is better then it would be quite tempting as I also like the look of the 300 F4 and 40-150 2.8

I think I actually would prefer just 6-10 photos max... if I can't grab a good one in 10 photos, then I can just click the shutter again and get 10 more. When AI Culling software is good enough for nature photography (and not just wedding/portrait photography), this issue will become less and less important. I'm sure Adobe is working on this for the next version of LR.... then C1, DxO, etc will do it.

    I bought this lens in August of 2023 and love what it allows me to do and minimum focus distance of 1.3M is fantastic. Photography is just a hobby and I don't the funds like certain people have. I had to dig deep and make cut backs on other stuff. I have owned Canon 30D to the 7D Mk II camera bodies and a few lenses. The only big boy Canon lens I bought was the 300 f/2.8 (1st version) and it was a heavy lens. The lens coupled with the OM System OM-1 is a great combo. Light weight and I can carry it the whole day without any issues. Sticker shock will be with me for some time to come. No regrets in switching to MFT format in 2019.
